Some Signs that you are a Facebook addict!

CNN says the site’s not the problem, the disconnection from real life is.

If you…….

1. You lose sleep over Facebook

“If you’re staying up late at night because you’re on Facebook, and you’re tired the next day, Facebook may be a compulsion for you,” Lipari said. “You shouldn’t be neglecting yourself because of Facebook.”

2. You spend more than an hour a day on Facebook

Paula Pile, says it’s hard to pinpoint exactly how much is too much time to be spending on social networking. Pile is a therapist specializing in individual, group and couple therapy.

“I can’t imagine that anyone would need more than an hour a day on Facebook, and probably no one needs more than 30 minutes,” she said.

3. You become obsessed with old boyfriends or girlfriends.

Reconnecting with old friends is one of the great attractions of Facebook, and there’s nothing necessarily wrong with “friending” an old boyfriend or girlfriend.  Watch where it leads however.  Stalking is not cool for anyone involved.

4. You ignore schoolwork in favor of Facebook.

5. The thought of getting off Facebook leaves you in a cold sweat, you need Facebook detox!

Student journalists from all over South Florida were given the chance of a lifetime to interview one of the world’s biggest bands, Fall Out Boy. In a press conference held by The Rock Star Stories at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater, bassist Pete Wentz and singer Patrick Stump answered questions from over 50 students. Despite being Billboard Top 40 and MTV favorites, it seems that fame has not gotten to their heads. The duo was ready and willing to answer any question on topics such as fatherhood and the future of Fall Out Boy. Following the interview, pop punk band All Time Low came to the press conference. Known for their hilarious personas, this quartet did not disappoint with their answers. When asked how the band formed, front man Alex Gaskarth responded “We met at a comic book convention.” It is safe to say the press conference was a great success.

So…last year, according to The NPD Group, a leader in market research for the entertainment industry, teens (age 13 to 17) acquired 19 percent less music in 2008 than they did in 2007. CD purchasing declined 26 percent and paid digital downloads fell 13 percent compared with the prior year.

Even in downloading music, the quantity of tracks downloaded from peer-to-peer (P2P)

networks, fell 6 percent in 2008. The number of teens borrowing music, either to rip to a computer or burn to a CD, fell by 28 percent.

What does this mean? 32 percent of teens purchasing less digital music expressed discontent with the music that was available for purchase, while 23 percent claimed to already have a suitable collection of digital music. Twenty-four percent of teens also cited cutbacks in overall entertainment spending as a reason for buying fewer downloads.

Hmmmmm we’ve got enough crappy music already on our ipods right?
